Other updates
Thank you for joining us in standing up for our shared values. In partnership with local law enforcement and out of respect for our community, we ask all participants to follow these important guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety, and a successful event:
COMMITMENT TO PEACEFUL PARTICIPATION: Our rally is peaceful and non-confrontational. Please stay calm and courteous, even when others may not be. This No-Kings: Vote Early Rally is also non-partisan.
Avoid engaging with counter protesters or agitators. Let our unity and message speak louder than any conflict.
CROWD FLOW: Keep sidewalks passable and avoid blocking entrances to local businesses & government buildings. Avoid crowding at corners to reduce the risk of bumping someone into the street. Spread out along the sidewalk for safety and visibility.
BULLHORN USE – NO SIRENS: Bullhorns are welcome for chants and calls, but absolutely no sirens and, please, do not use to engage with counter protesters.
Sirens cause confusion and can create dangerous situations in intersections. If you know someone planning to bring a bullhorn with a siren setting, kindly ask them not to use it. This is a key safety concern, and violating this could prompt police involvement.
LAW ENFORCEMENT PRESENCE: Police may be nearby, but plan to remain in the background. They are supportive and non-partisan, and they want us to have a successful, safe rally. If any safety or emergency issues arise, our team has the nonemergency contact number and will manage communications directly.
DE-ESCALATION and OUTSIDE AGITATORS: Our leadership team is committed to clean, nonviolent conflict resolution. If you see tensions rising, alert an event leader for LCVI. There is concern that outside agitators may try to disrupt the event. Be vigilant, stay calm, and don’t engage. We’ll manage any disruptions appropriately.
FINAL NOTES: We aim to deliver a respectful, powerful event that reflects our shared commitment to justice, peace, and community strength. Thank you for being a part of this. Your presence and peaceful participation are how we will make our really more powerful.
PLEASE BE MINDFUL ABOUT PARKING and plan to park on the streets!!
Please do not park in the nearby parking lots such as Walgreens and the Albertsons Center parking lot. Some of these parking lots are now posted and locally we have seen very a strict interpretation of who can park in those lots. Be aware that if you park in those lots to attend this rally you may be towed.
Please Note: The business owners in most of those lots are NOT the reason the signs have been posted. These parking lots are often owned by other entities (example: Albertsons does not own the Center parking lot. And Albertsons did NOT request these parking restrictions. The parking lot owners put the signs up. They are not the same.)
Some Options:
- Street parking in the general area
- Carpooling to have fewer cars to park
- Have someone drop you off at the event and then park the car you arrived in
Registration to attend is encouraged, but not required. You can register on Mobilize here: https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/1037369
